This home, finished in
2003, has many of the
popular features of
today's homes.
The cabinets are made of Cherry with Wilsonart
Gibraltar
solid surface tops. The cabinets sit up off the
floor with
furniture style legs.  There is an abundance of
specialty lighting. The
antique glass in the cabinet
doors are an important feature of the furniture quality
look.
There are two types of vanities. A pair of european
antique style chest of drawers with
vessel sinks sitting
on the tops in the master bath. The half bath has a
more contemporary look with a nontraditional pedestal
sink with side cabinets for storage.
The floor throughout the
entryway, hallways and
kitchen is
Brazilian Cherry.  I
started installing all the
hardwood floors beginning
with this house because it
was getting too hard to find
reliable installers.
As you can see, the
stairway from the
basement opens right into
the middle of the house.
Although an untraditional
entryway, it makes for an
impressive welcome for
guests being entertained
in the large finished
basement.
The large finished basement has an
unusual wet bar which can service
the pool table area and large media
room with ease.  The bar takes
some of its design elements from
the sports bar in the
1997 house.
This is the closest I have come to
repeating that design. I especially
liked the soft drink door hardware;
which I just found out is no longer
being made. Something for your
great-grandchildren to take to the
Antiques Roadshow in 100 years.
